Service Description

During your tour of The Maggie Fleming Animal Hospice and The Karass Sanctuary, you will meet the folk who are spending the final part of their lives in The Hospice, and get up close with farmed animals as they show you round their world. We try hard to create as safe and happy a home as we can so that they have as much freedom as possible to make their own choices and live their own lives, and we hope that by giving them this home where they can be themselves and show who they are it will show that another way in life and in death is possible. Do you dare meet Charles the Dickhead?! Converse with a pig; Emily loves a blether! If you're the tallest in your group you might be Melba's Highest Person of the Day. He doesnae give any warning before he launches himself from the ground onto an unsuspecting victim's shoulder and grips on. If sheep stampedes are your thing, go to the bottom of the hill with a packet of rich teas and shout "biscuits!!" and you'll soon be eye-level with The Big Woolly Bastard himself. After meeting everyone, time permitting we will have a brew and a blether in The Maggie Fleming Animal Hospice, what we believe to be the world's first purpose-built end of life care home for terminally ill abandoned companion animals, and farmed animals. If you would like, we will take photos of your visit and send them to you afterwards. We do not charge for visits as we want them to be open to everyone, but we do rely entirely on donations to provide everything they need to the folk who live here, so if you are in a position to make a donation to help us do our work to show another way in life and in death, we'd be awfy grateful!
